FRANKLIN – Helen Lenora Vaughan Morton, 87, died on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020 after a period of declining health. Mrs. Morton was born in Webster County, Mississippi, the daughter of the late John W. Vaughn and Marie Faulkner Vaughan.

Cindy Grable Miles

FRANKLIN – Cindy Grable Miles died Dec. 25, 2020. She was 68. Cindy was born April 29, 1952 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Kenneth and Margaret Grable. She married Stephen Miles as a young adult and over 20 years they fostered 22 children, often with special needs.

Jimi Mehta

FRANKLIN – Dr. Jimi Mehta, 83, passed away peacefully at his home on Dec. 18, 2020.  He was born Oct. 15, 1937 in Bombay, India. Jimi came to the United States at the young age of 23 with a degree in dentistry.

Pansy Lou Crisp Long

FRANKLIN – Pansy Lou Crisp Long, 84, died on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020. A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Everett Ernest and Ruth Ann Sanders Long. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy McConnell, Betty Sanders and Marie Williams.

Rufus “R.M.” Miles Hunter Jr.

OTTO – Rufus “R.M.” Miles Hunter Jr., 76, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020. A native of Screven County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Rufus Miles Hunter Sr. and Lina Waters Hunter.

Lillian Castleberry Archer

FRANKLIN – Lillian Castleberry Archer passed away Dec. 31, 2020 at her home in Franklin with her husband Allie and daughter Deborah.  She was predeceased by her father, Benjamin K. Castleberry; mother, Dessie Floyd Castleberry; sister, Mildred C. Shirley; and daughter Rita Archer Tharp.

Myra Allene Williamson

ASHEVILLE – Myra Allene Williamson, 77, passed away peacefully on Dec. 22, 2020 at Mission Hospital. She was born in Macon County on January 9, 1943 to parents John H. Williamson and Willie Mae Williamson.

Donald Bruce Tallent

FRANKLIN – It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Bruce Tallent announces his death on Dec. 24, 2020.  Born on Sept. 8, 1968, Bruce made his living first by splicing cable, but he was best known by the locals as a worker and co-owner at Tallent’s Produce Stand.

Jo Ann Sloan

FRANKLIN – Jo Ann Raulerson Sloan passed away Dec. 22, 2020 at Grandview Manor in Franklin. A third generation Floridian, she was born in Ft. Pierce, Florida on July 22, 1930 to Alfred Keightley and Mae Pearce Raulerson.

Betty Lavonne Raines

OCALA, FLORIDA – Betty Lavonne Raines (nee Garman), beloved mother, grandmother, sister and niece, passed into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Morris Lloyd Raines, who passed away in 2007.
