FRANKLIN – Joanne Elizabeth Barker Cloer, 72, passed away on Jan. 19, 2021. Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late James Stanley Barker and Alice Rebecca Akins Barker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister Judy Essen.

FRANKLIN – Ruben Black Anderson, 83, passed away Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, in the care of Care Partners Hospice in Asheville. Ruben was born in Franklin on March 16, 1937 to the late John Robert Anderson and Frankie Love Anderson.

FRANKLIN – Mrs. Lucille Pickens McCall, 85, passed away Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021.  A celebration of life service was held Jan. 13, 2021 at the Moore-Welch Cemetery. Mrs. McCall laid in state on, Jan. 12, 2021 at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home.

Florence Laverne Coggins Fox

FRANKLIN – Florence Laverne Coggins Fox passed away on Dec. 27, 2020. A funeral service was held Jan. 2, 2021 at Newman Chapel Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Newman Chapel Cemetery.

Leslie Franklin (Skip) Walters Jr.

Leslie Franklin (Skip) Walters, Jr. died on Jan. 14, 2021 at the age of 87. He lived in Bristol Tennessee at the time of his death, after residing in Franklin for over 30 years.  Skip was born in Jacksonville, Florida on Oct. 8, 1933 to Miriam Trice Walters and Leslie Franklin Walters, Sr.
