FRANKLIN – Clarence Bascomb Scott, 80, passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2021.

Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Ralph and Alice Franks Scott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Fred Scott, Clyde Scott and George Scott; and sister, Margie Scott.

Mr. Scott, a lifetime resident of Macon county, was a former NC DOT member and logger. Clarence will be remembered by many for driving his taxi around town and his instant smile. 

He is survived by sister, Bonnie Franks of Franklin; special niece Shirley Bradley  (Brent) of Franklin; And several other nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. on Jan. 14, 2021 at Watauga Baptist Cemetery. Rev. Wesley Price, Rev. David Lee Williams and Rev. Gary McCoy officiated. Mr. Scott laid in state from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
