The Macon County Public Library is taking patrons on a walk through the woods with a display on local artists’ interpretations of the works of William Bartram.

Community Care Clinic expanding services

The Community Care Clinic of Franklin is as important as ever during the pandemic, and the organization is taking steps to be more accessible to patients in need. Cathy Stiles, the clinic’s executive director, said the clinic hasn’t seen a decrease in the number of patients seen this year.

County workers get COVID hazard pay

Macon County employees will get $750 in hazard pay for their work during the COVID-19 pandemic. During the November meeting of the Macon County Board of Commissioners, county manager Derek Roland thanked all county departments for efforts to maintain services during a particularly trying year.

New dog park finally goes to the dogs

More than a year and a half after the project was approved, Macon County pet owners and their dogs are finally using the new dog park on Phillips Street. The Macon County Board of Commissioners approved funding for the construction of the 2-acre dog park during their meeting of April 2019.
