Vaccine clinic set for 16 and 17 year olds

With the help of regional partners, Macon County Public Health will host a special vaccine event April 23 to provide Pfizer vaccines to those who are 16 and 17 years old. Currently, Pfizer is the only vaccine approved for use for individuals as young as 16 years of age.

County buys land for library in Nantahala

In a close and controversial vote, the Macon County Board of Commissioners decided to purchase property in Nantahala as a possible location for a new library. The parcel, located at 36 White Oak Lane, has an area of 1.29 acres and will cost the county $159,800.

If you’re hungry or homeless or both in Macon County, you can now find help under one roof. Beginning this week CareNet is now housing the Macon New Beginnings program.  Macon New Beginnings has moved their administrative operations to the CareNet office on Bidwell Street.
