It’s been a tough stretch for Panther women’s soccer. On the week of March 27, Franklin played two Mountain Seven games, a home clash with North Henderson and a trip to Smoky Mountain.

It was a busy week for Panther men’s tennis. On the week of March 27, Franklin had three matches on the schedule, including a nonconference clash with Rabun Gap and home Mountain Seven meetings with East Henderson and Tuscola.

Track and Field attends WNC Kickoff at Western

In one of their biggest meets of the year, Panther track and field put on a show. At the WNC Kickoff Invitational hosted by Swain at Western Carolina University March 24, roughly 1,000 athletes from two dozen local teams gathered for an early-season litmus test.
A recent change in policy will allow Macon County students to play at schools other than the one where they are enrolled. This would allow students such as those at Macon Early College and Union Academy that do not have athletic teams to play sports at another county school.

Cross Country runs to regionals

Panther cross country is headed to the 3A West Regional. At the Mountain 7 Conference Championship meet Oct. 19 at Jackson Park in Hendersonville, Franklin’s distance runners butted heads with their M7C rivals for conference bragging rights from now until next year’s championship.
