Baseball splits with Smoky

After a tough first two games, Panther baseball ended the week on a high note. On April 18, Franklin kicked off a busy four-day stretch, including a Mountain Seven series with Smoky Mountain and a meeting with A.C. Reynolds.

Softball wins 10 straight

Panther softball is in the Mountain Seven Conference driver’s seat. After falling to Tuscola March 15, Franklin spent the next month looking up at the Mountaineers, stuck at half a game back in the standings despite a three-week, eight-game win streak.

Tennis finishes second in M7C

Panther men’s tennis are Mountain Seven runners-up. On the last week of the regular season, Franklin faced three conference matches, including home meetings with Smoky Mountain and Pisgah and a trip to first-place West Henderson.

Cochran breaks track and field records

It’s been a busy week for Panther track and field. On the week of April 17, Franklin had two big meets on the schedule – the Navy-Gold Challenge hosted by T.C. Roberson and the Blue Ridge Classic at North Buncombe.

2nd place tennis wins two more

It’s been a good week for Panther men’s tennis. Upon returning from Spring Break, Franklin faced two Mountain Seven Conference foes in East Henderson and North Henderson.

Track competes at RGNS

Panther track and field is back after nearly three weeks away. After the WNC Kickoff Invitational at WCU March 24, Melissa Ward and Matt Harlfinger’s teams enjoyed a kind of extended Spring Break.

Softball on 8-game streak

Panther softball stands in second in the Mountain Seven Conference. On their first week back from Spring Break, Bobby Bishop’s team had two home games on the schedule, an M7C matchup with East Henderson and a non-conference meeting with Madison.

Varsity soccer ties Murphy

It was a mixed week for Panther women’s soccer. Missing five players due to injury and Macon County’s Spring Break holiday, Dwight Long’s team kicked off the month of April with two difficult games, including Mountain Seven Conference power West Henderson and non-conference foe Murphy.

JV Soccer plays first game in Panther Pit

It’s been a historic week for Panther women’s JV soccer. Over Franklin’s Spring Break holiday, Juan Morales’ team was hard at work, hosting the school’s first-ever JV soccer match at the Panther Pit due to poor field conditions at Macon Middle School.

Baseball takes second in conference

Panther baseball hold their own destiny in their hands. On Spring Break week, Jared Greenwood’s team played three games in three days, including a non-conference game with North Buncombe and two Mountain Seven meetings with Pisgah.
