Football falls to Murphy

Football 1-0 to start year

Franklin football’s regular season is officially underway. After six extra months of waiting, the Panthers finally began what was supposed to be the 2020 football season with a trip to Hayesville March 1.

The boys are back

Ahead of a 2020-21 season that looks a bit different from years past, Franklin’s football team hopes to get back to its winning ways.

Soccer wallops Brevard; tough slate ahead

Swim represents at state

Will Woolever sports@thefranklinpress.com Franklin’s 2020/21 swim season is officially in the books.  After months of uncertainty, canceled meets and concern over the coronavirus pandemic, six Panther swimmers represented Franklin at the state 2-A swim and dive meets in Raleigh Feb. 11-12.

Basketball dispatches Brevard, East Henderson

Swimming sends 6 to State

Girls 5-0 to start season, eye conference title\ After beating Pisgah in double overtime off a last-second shot by Tori Ensley the previous Friday, on Jan. 25 the Panthers travelled to Mountain Six rival Brevard and bested the Blue Devils on their home court.

Swim team sweeps Mountain Six Conference meet

Franklin High School Swim and Dive has completed the Mountain Six conference sweep.  At the Mountain Six Conference championship at T.C. Roberson High School Jan. 23, swim teams from around the Mountain Six gathered to test their skills in a conference-wide meet.
