FRANKLIN - Mildred Ann Carver, 85, passed away at her residence on Sept. 14, 2022. As Mildred would say, “her transfer papers are completed,” she is walking on streets of gold. She was the daughter of the late John Roscoe and Hattie Jones McMahan.

FRANKLIN - Jessie Lea Downs Cabe, 95, passed away on Sept. 11, 2022. Born June 28, 1927, in the Rose Creek community in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Rosa Houston Downs.

Susie Stanley

FRANKLIN - Susie Faye Carpenter Stanley, 82, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2022. Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late James Coil and Bonnie Sanders Carpenter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Eva McCall, and an infant sister.

OTTO - Sandra Jo Feneis Merritt, 55, passed away at her residence on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022. Macon Funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.

OTTO - Elizabeth “Lib” Lauffer, 87, passed away at her residence on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022. Elizabeth was born in Freeport, Pennsylvania, to the late Bruce and Pearl Josephine Reed Overholt. She moved from Lost Creek, Kentucky, 22 years ago to call North Carolina her home.

Wanita Johnson

FRANKLIN - Wanita Eldora Dingman Johnson was born on Dec. 3, 1951, to Ralph James and Darlene Mae Dozark Dingman. She passed from this life on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022. Wanita was a loving and caring woman. Her family knew her as passionate, selfless, and a perfectionist in her work.

FRANKLIN - Paul Miller Haggar, 62, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Paul was born Dec. 20, 1959, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to the late Donald A. Haggar and Ruth Irene Miller. Paul Haggar served his country in the National Guard from 1979 through 2003.
