SYLVA - William LeGrande Pearce, 33, passed away at his home on Aug. 2, 2022. He was the son of the late James William Pearce and Carol Hughes Pearce Taylor. Will was born in Marietta, Georgia, on Nov. 12, 1988, and lived in Acworth, Georgia, until his family relocated to Cullowhee when he was two.

ASHEBORO - Tommie Lou Waldroop Knight passed away Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022, at her residence. Funeral services were held Aug. 15 at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel in Asheboro. Rev. Phillip Biggs, Rev. Roger Hutchins, Rev. Matt Hutchins and Rev. Mike White officiated.

FRANKLIN - Lawrence Anthony Miller, 81, passed away Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022. He was born Dec. 17, 1940, in Kings County, New York, in the city of Brooklyn to the late William Miller and Blanche Fenn Miller. Lawrence was a union carpenter and craftsman for 41 years.
