FRANKLIN - Mae Belle Guffey Bates, 83, entered into her Heavenly home Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020. Funeral service will be held at 2  p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29 at Tellico Baptist Church. The Rev. Charlie Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Jonathan Harold Ball

FRANKLIN - Jonathan Harold Ball, 81, passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2020. Born in Glouster, England, he was the son of the late Harold Ball and Irene Hadley Ball.  John graduated from Buffalo Bible and Houghten College, and served as pastor and missionary for more than 27 years.

Ernest “Buster” Tallent

FRANKLIN - Ernest “Buster” Tallent, 71, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020. Born in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Grayson Thomas Tallent and Freda Moore Tallent. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Tallent, and sister, Blanche Tallent.

Joseph “Joe” Dennis Kuhn

OTTO - Joseph “Joe” Dennis Kuhn, 77, of Otto, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2020. Born in Tampa, Florida, he was the son of the late Joseph George Kuhn and Estrella Failde Kuhn.  Joe enjoyed woodworking, playing golf, dogs, working with horses, watching old Westerns, and listening to music.

FRANKLIN - Barbara Joan Howard, 87, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020. Born in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Paul Walter Hill and Florence Renaud Hill. Barbara is survived by her husband of 68 years, William Beik Howard; three children, William H.

Carol Smith Horner

ENGLEWOOD, FLORIDA - Carol Smith Horner, 87, formerly of Franklin, passed away Jan. 17, 2020. Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 at Rush Cemetery. Pastor Eric Henson will officiate.  The family will receive friends at Macon Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until noon.

FRANKLIN - Donna Lee Estes, 84, passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2020. Born in Akron, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Sholts and Elizabeth DeRoussee Sholts.

Thresia Darlene Brooks Eaton

BRYSON CITY - Thresia Darlene Brooks Eaton passed away on Friday, Jan. 17, 2020.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Fannie Sue Walls Woodard, and her step-father, Joseph Manley Brooks. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Russell Brooks.

FRANKLIN - Atlas N. Vinson passed away on Jan. 8, 2020. A joint funeral for Mr. Vinson and memorial service for his beloved wife was held Jan. 13 at the House of Hope, Tessentee Church of God. Internment was in the church cemetery. Visitation was on Sunday, Jan.
