CAROLINA BEACH - Grace Marie Raby Maxwell, 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington.  She was born on Oct. 22, 1927 in Franklin to the late Charles Dania and Ella Reeves Raby. She joins her late husband of 68 years, Robert Lee Maxwell, in heaven.

FRANKLIN - Beatrice Bernice Deweese, 99, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020. A funeral service was held Saturday, Feb. 1 in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. The Revs. Jim Kinard and Charles Stevens officiated. Burial was in the Burningtown Baptist Church Cemetery.

FRANKLIN - Ruth Lucille Rice, 78, passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2020. A funeral service was held Monday, Jan. 27 at Windy Gap Baptist Church with the Revs. Greg Rogers and Mark Bishop officiating. Burial followed in the Moore-Welch Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday, Jan.

Joseph B. Moses

FRANKLIN - Joseph B. Moses, 84, passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2020. Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Lorenz T. Moses and Edna Bowman Moses. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edgar and Harry; and two sisters, Hazel Stamey and Virginia Corbin.

Linda Faye Curry Haire

Cleveland, Georgia - Mrs. Linda Faye Curry Haire, 68, passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2020 in Atlanta.  A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29 in the chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with the Revs. Terry Bumgardner, Bud Haire and Paul Cameron officiating.

FRANKLIN - Joy Lewis Cummings, 83, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020. Born in Phenix City, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late John Lewis and Edna Williamson Lewis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert J. Cummings.

Roy Pinkney Crisp

Roy Pinkney Crisp, 94, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020.  Mr. Crisp was born in Macon County on Jan. 5, 1926 to the late George Franklin Crisp and Emma Corbin Crisp.  Mr. Crisp was of the Baptist faith and a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.
