BRYSON CITY - Thresia Darlene Brooks Eaton passed away on Friday, Jan. 17, 2020. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Fannie Sue Walls Woodard, and her step-father, Joseph Manley Brooks. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Russell Brooks.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Eaton of Franklin; two daughters, Chree (Barry) Dutton of Olathe, Kansas and Rachel (Rick) Nations of Bryson City; four brothers, Jerry Brooks (Donna), Kim Brooks (Mindy), Wayne Brooks (Lisa) and Raymond Brooks (Julie); seven grandchildren, Chris (Laci) Nations, Matthew (Kate) Allen, John Nations, Daniel Nations, Jessie Smith, Stephen (Diandra) Smith and Shane Smith; eight great-grandchildren, Emma and Issac Nations, Tanner and Brooklyn Hendren, Mikaela Johnson and Jakob Martin, and Naomi, Nora and Natalie Smith 

She is also survived by her special companion, Heidie May, who she loved dearly.

A celebration of Thresia’s life was held Monday, Jan. 20, 2020 at Galbreath Creek Baptist Church in Bryson City. The Rev. Ernie Stiles Jr. officiated.

The family received friends Monday at the church.
