It’s been a busy few days for Panther track and field. On the week of Jan. 15, the team covered both ends of the competitive spectrum, traveling to Cherokee for a small, regional meet and to Winston-Salem to scope out this year’s state meet venue.

Panther track and field look more and more like state title contenders. After three weeks off for Christmas, the team resumed its season on the first week of the year, traveling to Lynchburg, Virginia, for one of the biggest meets on the east coast.

Three named to All-Mountain Seven football team

Eight Panthers have been honored by Mountain Seven coaches. Shortly after the fall campaign, the conference’s head football coaches met for their annual postseason meeting, selecting the best players from each other’s squads to this year’s All-M7 team.

1- Track claims 3A state titles As long as records are kept for N.C. high school sports, 2023 will be known as the year of Panther track. Entering the Indoor State Championships in Winston-Salem this past February, Franklin generally wasn’t mentioned among the 3A pre-meet favorites.
