FRANKLIN – Thomas J. Garrett passed away Dec. 30, 2020. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 19 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 542 St. John’s Church Road in Franklin. 

Robert Lewis Cowart

FRANKLIN – Robert Lewis Cowart, 52, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021. Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 4 in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Macon Funeral Home to help with the expenses. Macon Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Sydney G. March

FRANKLIN – Sydney G. March passed away at age 93 on June 1, 2021. Our “Good Syd” was born in Cambridge Massachusetts to parents Sydney H. March and Edith Clark March. An incredibly hard working man who was a jack of all trades, he retired from  San-Vel  in Littleton Massachusetts.

Christopher Shawn Ledford

CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA – Christopher Shawn Ledford, 42, died on May 8, 2021.  He was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming on December 20, 1978, the son of Edgar Calhoun Ledford and Phyllis Claudette Hastings. Chris never met a stranger and would give the shirt off his back to anyone who was in need.

APPLING, GEORGIA – Valerie Gail Hughes (Crisp) departed this world and was received by her Heavenly Home Tuesday, June 1, 2021.

David “Sid” Haney

AQUONE – David “Sid” Haney, 73, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021, at Mountain View Manor in Bryson City. A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Willa Mae Haney.  In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, David Riley and Sarah Jane Wilson Haney.

Kate Penland Crawford

FRANKLIN – Kate Penland Crawford, 93, died Thursday, June 3, 2021. Born in Clay County, Mrs. Crawford lived most of her life in Franklin. She was the daughter of the late J. Bayse and Alva Henson Penland.

Audrey Margaret Holland Cook

FRANKLIN – Audrey Margaret Holland Cook, 85, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of Denver and Delton Jennings Holland.
