FRANKLIN – Barbara Sears McRae died peacefully at her home on March 2, 2021. Her loss is felt deeply by countless family members, friends and colleagues whose lives she touched. Barbara’s life was centered on her love for seeing good things happen in this community.

Staci Marie Mashburn

FRANKLIN – Staci Marie Mashburn, 7, of Franklin, passed away March 6, 2021. Staci was born in Jackson County to Kelby Mashburn and Kishi Sanders.  Staci had a passion for learning. She thrived in her school environment and adored her teachers, Suzanne Younce, Phyllis Castle, and Jeremy Chapman.

Marilyn Lyon Ilhardt

ASHEVILLE – Marilyn Lyon Ilhardt, 70, originally of Miami, Florida, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 3, 2021 in the afternoon with family members by her side in Asheville, North Carolina.  Marilyn was born July 13, 1950 in Miami to the late Neil “David” and Margaret Lyon.

D L Elliott

FRANKLIN – D L Elliott, 73, passed away March 5, 2021. A service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday March 10, 2021, at Macon Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service.

Ada June Kiser Dowdle

FRANKLIN – Ada June Kiser Dowdle, 94, passed away March 7, 2021. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC  28731. Bryant-Grant Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Raymond Richard Bates

FRANKLIN – Raymond Richard Bates, 62, passed away on March 2, 2021. A graveside service was held Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Tellico Baptist Church. Macon Funeral Home is serving the family.

Jimmie B. White

FRANKLIN – Jimmie B. White, 86, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021 following a lengthy battle with a rare incurable cancer. He was born in Bristow, Oklahoma and moved to Tahlequah Oklahoma to pursue a career in the field of education.

Glenda Castleman Takach

FRANKLIN – Glenda Castleman Takach, 79, of Franklin, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021. Born in Miami, Florida, she was the daughter of the late George Denton and Sue Ann Langford Castleman.

John E. Sim

MURPHY – John E. Sim, 95, formerly of Franklin, passed away Friday, Feb. 19, 2021 at his residence. He was born March 2, 1925 to John Joseph Sim and Ann Campbell Smith in Detroit, Michigan. John served in the U.S. Army in World War II, serving in Hawaii.
