Shelby, NORTH CAROLINA – Ora Rudasill Trivett, age 88, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021 at White Oak Manor-Shelby. Born in Cleveland County on December 27, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee “Bobby” Rudasill and Nina Cabaniss Rudasill.

John “Jack” Philip Thomas

FRANKLIN – John “Jack” Philip Thomas, 95,  passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. Born in South Haven, Michigan, he was the son of the late James and Frances Russman Thomas.

FRANKLIN – Frankabelle Gibson Scruggs, 89, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, March 26, 2021. Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Leobelle Bradley Gibson.

Betty Jean Clinard Lance

Thomasville – Betty Jean Clinard Lance, 82, passed away at home on Thursday, March 18, 2021 after a long hard-fought battle with breast cancer.  Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Orville Franklin Clindard, Sr. and Ruth Mildred Atkins Clindard; and her husband Lyman F. Lance, Jr.

Iola “Olie” Sitton Hodgins

FRANKLIN – On Oct. 10, 1940, Iola “Olie” Sitton Hodgins was born to Richard D. and Suddie Brendle Sitton. Iola led a long and productive life and passed away on March 26, 2021. Iola grew up in Webster, North Carolina before later moving to Franklin. She was dearly loved by her family and friends.

David Eugene Hodges

Las Cruces, New Mexico – June Teague Hardin passed on March 25, 2021. She was born April 30, 1933 in the community of Prentiss in Macon County, when there was a Prentiss Post Office and the Tallulah Falls Railroad ran two trains daily.

FRANKLIN –Ethelene Passmore Goodson, 87, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, March 21, 2021. Born in Nantahala, she was the daughter of the late Curtis and Pearl Morgan Passmore.
