FRANKLIN – Kathleen “Kathy” Elizabeth Dillon, 51, passed away on Tuesday, Feb.  9, 2021. Kathy was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Terry Eugene and Jane Reno Dillon on April 8, 1969. She brought so many blessings and happiness into their lives.

James Lewis ‘J.L.’ Carver

FRANKLIN – James Lewis “J.L.” Carver, 73, passed away Feb. 9, 2021. There are no services planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be to VVA Chapter 994, C/O Dick Sheenan, 249 Sloan Road, Franklin, NC 28734.

Paul Vance Browning

FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Paul Vance Browning, 83, passed away Jan. 29, 2021. A private burial was held for Mr. Browning at the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Bryant-Grant Funeral Home and Cremation is serving the Browning family.

Oscar Harris “Bucky” Asby

FRANKLIN – Oscar Harris “Bucky” Asby, 91, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021. Born in Washington, North Carolina, he was the son of the late James Dawson Asby and Lossie Belle Harris Asby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven Chad Asby.

John H. Weber

FRANKLIN – John H. Weber, 89, passed away Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021. Born in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Harry and Naomi Weber.

Michael Thomas Suttles

FRANKLIN – Michael Thomas Suttles, 80, died Jan. 31, 2021. A service was held Jan. 9, 2021 at Pine Grove Baptist Church. Moffitt Family Funeral Care is serving the Suttles family.

James “Jamie” Shepherd

FRANKLIN – James “Jamie” Shepherd, 57, died on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021. Jamie was born on Nov. 20, 1963 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was the son of James Earlie Shepherd Sr. and the late Mary Nell Lampley Shepherd.

Hazel Barger Rickman

FRANKLIN – Hazel Barger Rickman, 81, died on Feb. 1, 2021. Funeral services will be held at Wolfe and Sons Funeral Home in Hyden, Kentucky. Burial will be in the Haystack Cemetery in Panco, Kentucky. Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. James “Jamie” Shepherd

FRANKLIN – Edith Louise Dalton Ray passed away peacefully on Jan. 24, 2021, at Franklin House. She was born in Sylva to Beecher and Lola Bell Dalton on Sept. 23, 1930. Her life was spent in devotion to her husband, Robert Paul Ray.

Mae Marlene Batson Osborne

FRANKLIN – Some people enjoy life to the fullest, and Mae Marlene Batson Osborne, who passed on Feb. 3, 2021, was one of them. She lived an interesting life and delighted in many different experiences. Mae, who was born on July 18, 1932, was not one to sit and watch life go by.
