Teddy Marshall Higdon

FRANKLIN – Teddy Marshall “Wolf” Higdon, 74, of Franklin, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2020. Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Theodore Warner Higdon and Geneva Pearl Coggins Higdon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Higdon.

Deborah Faircloth

SYLVA – Deborah “Debbie” Faircloth, age 72, of Sylva, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 29, 2020. She was the wife of Ray Faircloth and the daughter of the late David and Bernett Franks.  A member of New Hope Baptist Church, she loved to fish and to travel seeing new places.

Edward Kenneth Sumner

FRANKLIN - Edward Kenneth Sumner, 89, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020. A private graveside service will be held with a Celebration of Life being planned at a later date. Macon Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Mary D. Roper

FRANKLIN - Mary D. Roper passed away Thursday March 19, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Roper and son Neal Roper. She was a homemaker and one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Thomas S. Pyle II

FRANKLIN - Lt. Colonel Thomas S. Pyle II, USAF (Ret), 85, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 15, 2020, surrounded by family.  He was preceded in death by his parents Harry R. Pyle and Patricia Wright. In addition, he was preceded in death by his wife of 21 years Judy Avery Pyle.

Oscar Clinton Prevette

FRANKLIN - Oscar Clinton Prevette, 63, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2020.  A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 23, at Briar Creek Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery in Roaring River, North Carolina.

Gordon “Skip” Paul Lotz

FRANKLIN - Gordon “Skip” Paul Lotz, 70, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2020. Born in Blue Island, Illinois, he was the son of Florence Lotz and the late Arthur Wayne Lotz. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert W. Lotz.  Skip was a U.S.

Vito (Dermot) Lomonaco

FRANKLIN - Vito (Dermot) Lomonaco, 68, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2020. Vito was born May 20, 1951, and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his father, Vito Anthony Lomonaco, his mother, Bessie Mancuso Lomonaco, his brother, Vincent, and sister, Ann.

Frederick (Fred) Eugene Kirkland

HUNTERSVILLE - Frederick (Fred) Eugene Kirkland, 88, passed away Saturday March 14, 2020.  Born in Swain County, Fred was the only child of the late Jack J. Kirkland and Roxie K. Kirkland.
