John Lyndon Wiggins

SALEM, VIRGINIA - John Lyndon Wiggins, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020. A service was held at  2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8 at Macon Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Reeves officiating. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery.

John Wesley Murphy

Sgt. John Wesley Murphy, 93, passed away Nov. 4, 2020.   A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home. Visitation was from Noon to 1 p.m. Burial followed at Black Mountain Baptist Church.

Elinor Metzger

HIGHLANDS - Elinor Metzger passed away Oct. 30, 2020, at Eckerd Living Center in Highlands N.C. Services will be announced at a later date.

Robert “Doc” Roger McMahan

FRANKLIN - Robert “Doc” Roger McMahan, 85,  died Friday, Nov. 06, 2020. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov.  9 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home.  Rev. Wesley Price and Rev. Frank Rodriguez officiated. Burial was in the Watuaga Baptist Church cemetery.

Roma Nell Mashburn

FRANKLIN - Roma Nell Mashburn, 85, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 9, 2020 in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home with Rev. Travis Buchanan and Rev, Mike Chastain officiating. Burial followed in the Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery.

Michael Lee Sprinkle

FRANKLIN - Michael Lee Sprinkle, 54, passed away Monday, Nov. 2, 2020. He was a lifelong resident of Franklin, born in Macon County to the late John and Anna Elizabeth Candler Sprinkle.

Robert Mitchell Shepherd

FRANKLIN - Robert Mitchell Shepherd, 81, passed away Monday, Nov. 2, 2020. Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Perry Soloman Shepherd and Lola Mae Messer Shepherd. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Minnie Talley and a brother, John Shepherd.

Earl Sanders

FRANKLIN - Earl Sanders, 86, passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020.  He was born in Macon County, on March 12, 1934 to the late Sam D. and Callie S. Sanders.   A veteran of the US Army, he served two years in the infantry at Fort Ord in California. Mr.
