FRANKLIN - James Richard McCall, 82, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023.  He was born April 14, 1940, in Macon County to the late Carl McCall and Josephine Brown McCall. Mr. McCall was a carpenter and enjoyed fishing, car racing and antique car shows. He also loved flowers, especially daylilies.

Raymond Ledford

SYLVA - An old man without enemies, Raymond Ledford, died after a brief illness at the age of 87, on Jan. 18, 2023, with his family by his side. Raymond was my friend for more than 60 years. A more loyal and loved friend, no one has ever had.

HAYESVILLE - Edward “Kain” Franklin, 37, of Hayesville and Franklin, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023. Born in Jackson County, he was the son of Charles Edward Franklin and Lynn Hodgins Potts. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Ruth Franklin.

FRANKLIN - Peggy Ann Dills, age 76, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away Dec. 17, 2022. Peggy was born in Franklin and spent most of her life in Marietta, Georgia. She loved cooking, going to the mountains and spending time with her loving family.

FRANKLIN - Ann Morrow Southard died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023, in Brevard. She was preceded in death by her parents, C.L. and Ora Morrow, and brothers, William and Robert Morrow. Ann was born in Franklin on April 17, 1946, and lived there most of her life.
