Photo submitted - A smoke test at Macon Middle School detected leaks in vent pipes, which causes a methane odor in the school. It is thought the pipes were never correctly connected at the time of construction.
Press photo/Mia Overton - The Franklin Planning Board has approved the rezoning of the former Angel Medical Center site on Riverview Street from MICR to C-2 commercial. The Town Council will hold a public hearing on the request before the final vote in January. The town requested the property be rezoned since it will no longer be a medical facility and to open the possibility for senior housing on the site.
