East Franklin Elementary School principal Landon Holland will be leaving his position at the end of the month.
Macon County Schools Superintendent Chris Baldwin announced the resignation at a special called session of the Macon County Board of Education on Tuesday.
Holland notified the school board on Oct. 4 with his 30-day notice and informed his staff of the decision this past Monday.
“It is my understanding that he’s accepted a position as a teacher in Jackson County,” Baldwin said. “So around the first of the month, we’re going to need to have an interim principal at East Franklin.”
An interim principal is scheduled to start on Monday, Nov. 4.
