Franklin High School seniors Addix Sutton and Abigail Pope were crowned Mr. and Miss FHS at the annual court presentation on March 21 at the FHS Fine Arts Center. Originally scheduled for Jan. 31, the event had been postponed due to winter weather.
The FHS Student Council and the Camino Club hosted the event. The court, which includes representatives from each class, was presented at the FHS Fine Arts Center. A dance followed in the cafeteria.
Addix is the son of Alise and Mark Sutton. He is a member of the varsity football, basketball and baseball teams. He is a leader in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and attends Cowee Baptist Church. He plans to attend Western Carolina University and major in civil engineering.
Abigail is the daughter of Jennifer and Toby Pope. She is Student Body vice president, a member of the Interact Club, Health Occupation Students of America, FCA and president of the National Honor Society. She is also member of the cross country, indoor and outdoor track teams. She is a violinist at Grace Presbyterian Church. She plans to major in nursing at Western Carolina University.
