Franklin had plenty of talent on the diamond this year. Recently, the N.C. Baseball and Softball Coaches Associations released their annual list of 3A All-State honorees, including four players from Panther softball and one from Panther baseball. In softball, Suzanna Cabe, Ashlyn McConnell, Makayla Pendergrass and Kendall Rumans made the list after leading Franklin to a Mountain Seven Conference title. In baseball, standout Will Rauers was also named All-State after leading Franklin to wins in nine of their last 11 games. The five honorees include two underclassmen and no seniors.
