FRANKLIN – Loving and faithful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, son, friend, and most importantly, child of God, Earl Lynn Phillips departed this world on July 11, 2021 to enter the Kingdom of Heaven and the presence of the Lord.

James Edward Perry III

FRANKLIN – James Edward Perry III, 71, passed away July 13, 2021. Jim was born in Macon County to the late James E. Perry Jr. and Byrda Nell Perry Vandiver. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his sister, Debra Ann Perry Thomas.

Patrick William McConnell

FRANKLIN – Patrick William McConnell, 63, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021. Born in Columbia, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Millard B. and Louise York McConnell.  Pat retired from the United States Airforce in 2001 as a C.M.S.G.T.

Brian “Boney” Keith McConnell

FRANKLIN – Brian “Boney” Keith McConnell, 44, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021, after a period of declining health. He was born in Sylva, the first son of Michael Keith and Diane Crisp McConnell. Brian was a member of Black Mountain Baptist Church.

Loren Maurice Long

FRANKLIN – Loren Maurice Long passed away on July 9, 2021, at age 51.  Born in Lynchburg, Virginia, in 1969, he was predeceased by his father, Harold Daniel Long; his mother, Margaret June Brinegar; his stepfather, Patrick Floyd Stanley; and his brother, Daniel Conway Long (Wanda).

Martha Sam Gibson Jamison

FRANKLIN – Martha Sam Gibson Jamison, 72, went home to be with the Lord Friday, July 16, 2021. Martha Sam was born in Macon County on Nov. 8, 1948, to the late Sam Gibson and Mary Jo Fulbright Gibson. She was a graduate of the Franklin High School Class of 1967 and earned a B.S.

James Driver Hodnett

ATLANTA – Dr. James Driver Hodnett died on March 19, 2021. He was born in Atlanta on Oct. 3, 1926 to Emily Driver Hodnett and Dr. Walter Clifford Hodnett Sr. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Yvonne Maxwell Hodnett; his parents; his brother, Dr. W.C Hodnett Jr.

Ruben Cano

FRANKLIN – Ruben Cano, 77, passed away Tuesday, July 13 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alice Rosario; two daughters, Yvonne D. Cano of Franklin, and Michelle M.

Wynona Dooley Shetti

GASTONIA, NORTH CAROLINA – Wynona Dooley Shetti passed away peacefully on Friday, July 16, 2021, at the age of 75, surrounded by her family. Born on June 25, 1946, in the mountains of Franklin, North Carolina, Wynona was the daughter of Margie Frazier Dooley and Bill Dooley.

Kenneth “Ken” Cloyce Giblin

FRANKLIN – Kenneth “Ken” Cloyce Giblin, 81, passed away July 18, 2021. A memorial service will be held in St. Petersburg, Florida at a later date. Macon Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
