RABUN GAP, GEORGIA - Mildred Ann Norton Justice, age 89, was called home on Tuesday, April 19. Born on July 19, 1932, in Macon County, to Richard Norton and Margaret Burrell Norton, she grew up to be a Proverbs 31 woman, model wife, mother and friend.
Mildred was wife to Coyl Justice for 74 years.
FRANKLIN - Gloria Oliver Franklin, 75, went home to walk with Jesus on Thursday, April 21, 2022.
She was born in Macon County to the late Gene Oliver and Lois Oliver Lathrop.
Gloria was a very caring wife, mother, and grandmother and always thought of others before herself.
FRANKLIN - Walter “David” Deats IV, 54, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022.
Born in Fort Worth, Texas, he was the son of Walter David Deats III and Karen Kelly Higdon. David was a painter by trade, and an extremely gifted artist.
SYLVA - Maxie Lee Corn Carpenter, 99, passed away on Good Friday, April 15, 2022, one month shy of her 100th birthday. Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Flora Corn.
Maxie was preceded in death by her husband, Earvin A.
FRANKLIN - Robert Donald “Don” Bell, 92, passed away at home on April 23, 2022.
He was born April 25, 1929, in Culberson to the late Robert T. Bell and Laura Chastain Bell. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Korean War.
COWEE - Dorothy Kavanaugh Arnold, age 92, passed away on April 18, 2022. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, she moved to West Palm Beach, Florida in 1944. She married in June 1950 then moved to North Carolina.
