Setser appointed interim town manager

Following a closed session on May 18, the Franklin Town Council appointed Justin Setser as interim town manager.  “I feel honored that the Town Council trusts me with the position of interim town manager,” Setser said.

County gearing up for critical summer learning

Jake Browning reporter@thefranklinpress.com May 28 will be the last student day for the 2020-21 school year in the Franklin area. For many, it will also be the long-awaited conclusion of one of the most beleaguered years in academic history brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

FHS construction plan presented

The Macon County Board of Commissioners listened to a proposal for a new construction project that could be a glimpse into the future of Franklin High School during the meeting on May 11.

FHS Band holds first concert since last school year

Franklin High School’s band students got to perform for an audience for the first – and last – time this school year when they took the stage on Monday night. When COVID-19 shut down mass gathering venues at the end of last school year, the school’s auditorium was emptied of guests for months.
