SYLVA – Jean Houston Frady, 95, passed from this life to the next on Wednesday Sept. 22, 2021 at her home. She was a native of Jackson County, born in Hamburg Township to the late Baxter and Cordia Houston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty three years; Rev. Cecil M. Frady, as well as her siblings, Ruby Wilson, Audrey Stephens, Pearl Hawkins, Nettie Holly, and Ennis Houston. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Fisher of Winder, Georgia and son; Randy Frady of Tuckasegee; her grandchildren, Jason (Tamara) Fisher and Jill (Brandon) Elders; her great-grandchilden; Peyton, Jaxon, Lily Fisher, Brett and Jake Elders; and also several nieces and nephews.  

She dedicated her life to the service of God, her family, and her community.  This dedicated service was seen through steadfast support of missionary works both local and international, and also as a pastor’s wife utilizing her God-given gifts to serve in different areas of ministry.  She was an active member of Lovedale Baptist Church. She enjoyed sitting on her porch swing watching the river, bird watching, listening to music, and spending time with her family. 

Services were held Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Lovedale Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Farmer and Rev. Roy Lowe officiating. Family received friends an hour prior to the service. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Broyhill Childrens Home (255 Sneed Drive, Clyde, NC 28721) and Camp Truett (346 Truett Camp Road, Hayesville, NC 28904).
