The parking lot at the new Angel Medical Center located at 124 One Center Court, Franklin, was full on Tuesday morning as the hospital hosted public tours of the facility. Local officials joined HCA leaders and Angel Medical Center staff and board members as they cut the ribbon announcing the completion of the $68 million facility. As contractors and medical staff were putting the final touches on the 30-bed facility, Angel Medical Center CEO Clint Kendall told those gathered for the ribbon cutting ceremony and tour that the new hospital will begin accepting patients at 6 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 18. “Beginning Sunday morning at 6 a.m., residents should come to the new hospital,” said Kendall. The old medical center, including the ER, will close at 6 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 18. Patients and staff will transfer to the new facility Sunday morning. Traffic on East Main will be heavier than normal during this time. Kendall estimates that all patients will be moved into the new facility by 10 a.m. on Sunday.
