During its May 2 meeting, the Franklin Town Council members agreed on a design for a proposed clock to be placed in the roundabout at Womack Street.
Council member Mike Lewis advocated for the project saying that area is the gateway to town. The cost of the clock is $23,165. “I think it would be a really nice thing for our taxpayers to see we are doing something,” he said.
Town Manager Amie Owens said with installation and landscaping the total is estimated to be about $30,000. If approved, the project will be paid for from the general fund.
