Tennis sends six to regionals

Panther women’s tennis will be well-represented at regionals. On Tuesday, Oct. 7, the team traveled to Western Carolina University for the 5A West Pre-Regional, battling players from six other squads to advance.

Women’s tennis ends regular season

The regular season is at an end for Panther women’s tennis. On the week of Sept. 29, Franklin faced a busy schedule, playing their last three matches in the Mountain Eight Conference.

Volleyball to battle West for M8C title

Panther volleyball is red-hot entering their biggest match of the year. After a 3-1 conference loss at West Henderson Sept. 10, Franklin went on a tear, winning each of their next six matches in straight sets.

Football earns Homecoming win

It was a Homecoming to remember for Panther football. Amid ongoing renovations to the Panther Pit, on Friday, Oct. 3, the team traveled to Western Carolina University for the fourth time this season, hosting a unique Homecoming game in the school’s history.

Soccer beats Tuscola in thriller

Panther men’s soccer has earned their first conference win. After starting their Mountain Eight schedule with one-goal losses to Brevard and East Henderson, Franklin continued their campaign with two more rivalry games.

Football outduels Black Bears

Panther football is back in the win column. After falling in overtime to Brevard the previous week, on Sept. 26 Franklin continued their conference schedule, traveling to Canton to take on the Pisgah Black Bears.

Volleyball defeats Brevard at WCU

It’s been a good week for Panther volleyball. After suffering just their second loss of the year at West Henderson, on the week of Sept. 15 they returned to Franklin for a three-match home stand, hosting Robbinsville, East Henderson and Brevard.

Football nearly topples Brevard

Panther football nearly outlasted one of the best teams in the mountains. Ahead of their game with conference rival Brevard Sept. 18, head coach Josh Brooks said Franklin would need to play their best in the Mountain Eight clash.
