CANTON, GEORGIA - Wanda Gaileen (Gail) Harris passed away Nov. 18, 2021 in Canton, Georgia. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed.

Gail was born to Herschel and Ethel Howell on Aug. 26, 1948, in Dalton, one of eight children. She grew up in this north Georgia town and graduated from high school in 1966. Shortly thereafter, she met Cliff Harris whom she married on Sept. 3, 1967. The newlyweds eventually moved to Warner Robins and began their lifelong partnership in the jewelry business.

Gail worked tirelessly with Cliff for over 40 years as they raised their family and operated their businesses in Warner Robins, and Franklin. She was an active member of her community and church wherever she lived and became an integral part of Christ United Methodist Church in Warner Robins and Resurrection Lutheran Church in Franklin. As part of Main Street Franklin, Gail helped to plan and implement many festivals and various activities that helped to make this mountain town a joyous experience for locals and visitors alike.

Gail’s passing will be mourned by her son Brantley, daughter Brooke (Chad), son, Brett (Stephanie); grandchildren, Wyatt Harris, Landon, McKenna and Madeleine Sipe, Reed, Jack, and Sam Harris; sister Patricia; brothers, Mike and Wade; numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Cliff; sisters, Brenda, Betty, Shelba; brother Charles.

A memorial service was held Dec. 7 at 10:30 a.m. at South Canton Funeral Home in Canton, Georgia, with Pastor Clint Johns officiating. The family received friends immediately following the service. Gail was laid to rest, along with her husband Cliff, at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. Military honors were rendered by the U.S. Navy.
