KIPLING - Mr. Wade Newton Cabe, 77, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020 at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington. 

He was born in Macon County, the son of the late Mell Johnny and Mary Elizabeth Henry Cabe. Wade was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris Cabe and daughter, Pamela Lynn Rivers. 

He graduated from Franklin High School and Blanton’s Business College with a degree in Traffic Management. Wade worked and retired from Overnite Transportation Company after 36 years of service. After retiring, he worked as a part-time rural carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Wade was an active member of Kipling United Methodist Church. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially Dale Earnhardt Sr.

Wade is survived by two sons, Shane Cabe of Kipling and Frankie O. Rhem (Cynthia Breece) of Fuquay-Varina; son-in-law, the Rev. Robert Rivers of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, Wilbur Cabe (Ann) of Statesville; niece, Becky Cabe Butler (Linc); and nephew, Jakie Cabe.

A funeral service was conducted at Saturday, Feb. 15 at Kipling United Methodist Church with the Revs. Melinda Ivey and Robert Rivers officiating. Burial was in Olive Branch Cemetery in Kipling. The family received friends prior to the service at the church.
