FRANKLIN - Ursula Goethel Campbell passed away July 13, 2022, at a Thomasville nursing home.

Born in 1935 in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Guido and Hedwig Goethel. In 1959 she moved to Macon County to marry her love, Charles Louis Campbell, whom she met while he was serving in the Army in Germany, and who stood by her side for more than 50 years as a doting husband before his death. Ursula was a survivor, surviving WWII in Germany, surviving Multiple Sclerosis, and surviving four bouts of cancer. She was preceded in death by brother, Gerhard Goethel; and sister-in-law, Millie Goethel.

Ursula is survived by daughter, Marcie Roper; son-in-law, James Roper; granddaughter, Casey Roper; son, Uli Goethel and his wife Rosi; brothers, Wolfgang Goethel of Germany, Dieter Goethel and his wife Heidi of Austria; sisters-in-law, Ella Vee Woodard, Lucille Allen and Mary Jo Campbell; and many nieces and nephews who she loved very much.

There will be no formal services. Wright Funerals-Cremations in High Point is in charge of arrangements.
