FRANKLIN - Thomas “Barry” Hedden, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021.

Born in Macon County, he was the oldest son of Thomas Gary and Phyllis Green Hedden. He was preceded in death by his daughter Morgan Hedden and father-in-law Duel Carpenter.

Barry was a member of Iotla Baptist Church, where he was a RA leader investing in the lives of young boys to help grow their relationship with the Lord. He was also a member of the Archery Club and the Junaluska Masonic Lodge, where he was a Past Master. Barry was an outdoorsman; he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and taking care of animals. In his spare time, he loved watching the Atlanta Braves. But the thing that Barry loved most was spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife and best friend of 31 years, Kim Carpenter Hedden; children Blake Hedden (Destiny Cowart) and Olivia Hedden, both of Franklin; brother Phillip Hedden of Franklin; mother in-law Emma Lee Lovett (Walt); sister in-law Valerie Norton (Steve) of Franklin; nephew Jarrod Hedden; niece Lauren Norton; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends also survive.

Funeral service was held Saturday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. at Iotla Baptist Church. Rev. Brandon Breedlove, Rev. Steve Reeves, and Rev. Greg Rogers officiated. Burial followed in the Iotla Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 1 to 2 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the church.

Pallbearers were Mitch Cabe, Steve Norton, Josh Teem, Steve Penland, Todd Duvall, Jimmy Katsch, Jarrod Hedden and Dave Miller. Honorary pallbearers were the Ferguson Enterprise employees, Tony Ledford and Barry’s cousins.
