HOMESTEAD, FLORIDA - Thomas E. Ruffner, 89, peacefully passed away at his home on Dec. 28, 2019. His wife of 65 years, Gail, was by his side at his passing.
He is survived by his three children; son Robert (Holly), of Wellington, Florida; and daughters Sharon, of Franklin, and Sharlene (Craig), of Cutler Bay, Florida; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Tom was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania and moved to Homestead, Florida in 1970. He was employed by Bell South/AT&T for 35 years.
He also served in the U.S. Navy stationed in Cuba and West Africa from 1951-1955. Tom and Gail lived seasonally in Franklin since 1995. Tom was active in the Gem City Car Club and Macon Men.
A service to celebrate Tom’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Memorial United Methodist Church, 4668 Old Murphy Road, Franklin, NC, 28734
