BRADENTON, FLORIDA - Suzanne Marie Fredrickson Thomas, formerly of Franklin, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020 with her children by her side.
She was born to the late Theodore R. and Grace (Gilbert) Fredrickson on March 8, 1946. She is survived by her son, Brian L. (Stacy) Thomas, and daughter, Dawn M. Thomas Potts; and family friend, Wesley Cook, all of Bradenton. She is also survived by her two sisters, Shirley Ches of Franklin and Karen Rice of Kettering, Ohio, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Residing in Macon County since 2002, Suzanne worked for a number of years as secretary for Lamplighter Realty, and then for 10 years at Harrah’s in Cherokee, where she had many great friends, fellow employees and “regular” customers alike. She was a passionate Franklin Lion, and initiated the Lion’s Club “tackle boxes” program, which were placed in local venues for donations of used glasses, hearing aids and empty printer ink-cartridges for recycle to benefit the Lions Club missions.
When work hours allowed, she was an active member with Democratic Women of Macon County, and in years past she loved to participate with a local line-dance group.
Her many old friends here in North Carolina will remember the great big smile she had for everyone she met, and have missed her these few years since she retired and left our mountains to be near her children.
Services will be held at a later date in Northport, Michigan.
We’ll always love you, dear little sister. Till we meet again we’ll remember and treasure our special times.
