SYLVA - Stephen Ernest Meyers, 78, passed away Monday, May 30, 2022.
A native of Illinois, he was the son of the late Paul and Dorothy Meyers.
Steve was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Franklin. He enjoyed building things and built the house he retired in here in Western North Carolina; he just loved the mountains and being outdoors.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Judy Hotz.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Candace Meyers; sisters, Janet Poluse of Hudson, Florida, and Joan Wagner of Sevierville, Tennessee.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 18 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Franklin. The family will be receiving friends an hour prior to the service at the church.
