CULLOWHEE - Roberta Ann Regnery, 66, died peacefully Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, at Highlands-Cashiers Hospital due to complications resulting from cancer.

Roberta was born April 3, 1953, in Palo Alto, California to the late historian Dorothy Regnery and Stanford University professor of biology David Regnery. She attended Woodside High School, the University of California at Santa Barbara, the University of California at Davis, and earned a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University. 

Roberta worked as a biological technician, a graphic designer and as a bank teller.  She was an avid gardener, family genealogist, and crafted unique dolls and doll garments.

She is survived by her brothers, Richard Regnery and his wife, Gretchen, of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin and Russell Regnery and his wife, Helen, of Highlands; her niece, Roslynn Regnery; grand-niece Addalyn Cache Stoltz of Lyons, Colorado; and her step-niece, Donna Maria Lindsey of Rochester, Vermont.
