CLAYTON, GEORGIA - Robert Carl DeLay, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022.

Robert was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Carl DeLay and Mary Dunn DeLay.

Robert excelled in his education and had many hobbies that he enjoyed. He graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in educa-tion and was a chemistry teacher for a short period of time. After his work as a chemistry teacher, he led a successful career in the insurance field. Aside from his work, Robert was a Master Mason, and had his pilot’s license. He loved to travel with his wife, Loretta DeLay, and they traveled the world together for 25 years. Robert enjoyed working in his garden in his free time, and was a beekeeper, and a talented craftsman.

Robert is survived by his wife of 58 years, Loretta DeNapoli DeLay of Clayton; daughter, Faye Hatcher and husband Brian of Clayton; son, Andrew DeLay and wife Sue of Clearwater, Florida; grandchildren, Megan Hatcher and Robert An-drew (Buster) DeLay. In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his brother, Daniel DeLay.
