CASTLE ROCK, Wash. – Rebecca E. Bateman, 94, widow of Harve L. Bateman, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021. She was born in Franklin to Charles and Texie Reeves. Rebecca was a homemaker who loved to care for children and cook for everyone. She had a very generous and indomitable spirit.

She is survived by sisters Delia Houston and Lela (Frank) Watson; two daughters, Cleo “Kate” Freeman and Dar-lene (Paul) Waibel; two sons, Bill (Lynn) Bateman and Randy (Becky) Bateman, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Harve Bateman, son Charles “Chuck” Bateman and grandson Kurt Charles “Charlie” Bateman. She is also preceded in death by brothers Lee, Ralph, Jimmy, Bill, Henry and Jack Reeves and sisters Beulah Williamson and Alice Wooten.

Viewing was Sept. 15 from at Hubbard Funeral Home in Castle Rock, Washington. The graveside service followed at at Whittle & Hubbard Cemetery.

There will be a more complete and open celebration of Rebecca’s life at a later time. In lieu of flowers, because of her joy in feeding others, please donate to your local food bank and enjoy a wonderful meal in her honor.
