OTTO - Patrick Francis Dempsey, age 63, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022, at Mission Hospital in Asheville.
Patrick was born on July 5, 1959, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of Andrew Dempsey and Mary Susan (DeBlaay) Dempsey, now Oswald.
Patrick was a tender-hearted person, always lending a hand to family, friends and neighbors wherever and whenever needed. His life’s career was laying flooring and doing odd jobs. He was a tinkerer. He loved to garden, but mostly, he loved his family and his best friends Larry, Wayne and Jim.
Surviving is his fiancé, Linda Christine (Burns); children, Andrew, Travis and his spouse, and Nicole; stepsons, Jeffrey Burns and Andrew Burns; grandchildren, Kameron, Ashton, Jeremiah, Reese, Gabriel, Kiara, Nevaeh, Kyah, Larissa, Toraura; mother, Mary Susan Oswald; brothers, Christopher and Elizabeth (Wright) Dempsey, Michael Dempsey, Joseph and Gail (LaJoye) Dempsey, and Daniel and Tricia (Koehlinger); sister, Dawn (Dempsey) and Michael Hulbert; stepbrother, Kevin Oswald; stepsisters, Kelly (Oswald) and Michael Lemon and Kara Oswald; aunts, uncles, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew; stepfather, Wallace Oswald; granddaughter, Onna; nephews, John and Brad; and niece, Kristin.
There will be a private family gathering to say goodbye.
