FRANKLIN – Patricia “Pat” Yvonne Rowland Shuler, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021 at Angel Medical Center in Franklin.

Pat was born on April 12, 1935 in Franklin to the late Royal Furman Rowland and Texie Lavora Welch Rowland.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Albert Shuler.

Pat was a member of Windy Gap Baptist Church, and she retired in 1997 from her job as a caregiver with Macon Citizens Habilities, Inc. She was an avid reader of books and loved visiting with her family and making others laugh. Pat was known and loved for her  great sense of humor and love for her family. She was an intercessor who found great joy in praying for the needs of others. “Nana Pat,” as her grandchildren called her, will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, James J. Blevins, III (Judy) of Bryson City and William Eric Blevins (Cathy) of Greensboro; a daughter, Renee’ Yvonne Vinson (Gerald) of Young Harris, Georgia; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Cullasaja Assembly of God, 6201 Highlands Rd., Franklin, NC, 28734, with the Rev. Forrest Jones officiating.
