FRANKLIN - Nannie “Geneva” Scruggs, 77, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.

Ms. Scruggs was born in Macon County to the late Willie Scruggs and Isabella Greenwood Scruggs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her only son, Anthony Gladden Scruggs, and siblings, Walter “Little Willie” Scruggs, Charles Scruggs, Josephine Scruggs Bryson, Carl Scruggs, Eddie Scruggs, Billy Scruggs, Betty Jean Scruggs Parrish, Orlando Scruggs and Leon Scruggs.

Geneva was a member of Burgess Chapel. Geneva retired from Macon County Schools in 2008. In her spare time, she enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower garden and looking for bargains at flea markets.

She is survived by sisters, Claudette Frances Burston and Synethia Owens (Bob) of Franklin; brother, Stanley Scruggs of Franklin; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Saturday, July 2 in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Mozart Moliere, Bishop Farris Long, Minister Richard Lugo and Minister Eli Sha Moliere officiated. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Curt Stewart, Tony Stewart, Terry Stewart, Norman Bryson, Tyler Scruggs and Elisha Moliere.
