ATHENS, GEORGIA - Michael Scott Seger passed away on May 4, 2022, at the age of 57. Formerly of Franklin he graduated Franklin High School in 1983, attended Brevard College on a basketball scholarship and the University of Georgia.
He is survived by his son, Jacob “Jake” Daniel Seger; daughter, Conerly Elizabeth Seger; mother, Lantie Lathrop; aunt, Shirley Treadway; cousins, Randy, Mark and Ronald; brother-in-law, Buz Busby; and niece, Sarah Busby. He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn A. Seger, and beloved sister, Marsha Busby.
Mike’s first love and highest priority was his family, who he always put first. He was hardworking and dedicated to his time in real estate. Mike worked for years fulfilling his dreams as a real estate broker for his own company, Seger Realty, Inc., in the Athens, Georgia, area. He truly loved the ocean, beach and spending time outside with his family. To say he was an avid fisherman would be putting it lightly. You could find him on his boat, “The Fishcian” on any given day with his family fishing or relaxing at Shell Island. He loved his family and friends more than anything in the world.
A celebration of life will be held in Franklin at a later date.
