FRANKLIN - Mary Ann Long Talent, 81, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Franklin, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Thomas Long and Pearl Corbin Long. Mary Ann worked at Peoples Department store and later as secretary at George Coleman Ford in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, where she retired in May 2000. She was a loving mother, grandmother and dear friend to all, and was of the Southern Baptist faith. 

Mary Ann is survived by her son, Gary Dean Tallent and wife Terri, of Franklin; daughter, Angie Tallent Tomberlin and husband Wade, of Easley, South Carolina; grandsons, Jake Tallent, Jared Tallent and Luke Tomberlin; granddaughter, Megan Tomberlin; and special nephews, Chad Burrell (Melody) and Todd Stone (Angye). 

Along with her parents, Mary Ann was also predeceased by an infant son and siblings, Nancy Stone and Connie Burrell. 

The family would like to thank Interim Hospice and a very special friend, June Burrell, for all their love and excellent care given to Mary Ann. 

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 4, 2020 at 1 p.m. at the Howze Mortuary Chapel. Due to mandated restrictions on gathering at this time, please call the funeral home at 864-834-805 prior to traveling in order to confirm the date of the service.

Burial will be private.
