FRANKLIN - Mack Eugene Cabe, 85, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in the Ronnie Green Heart Center.

Mack was born on Sept. 18, 1937, in Macon County to the late Meldrum “Pud” Dewey and Evie Keener Cabe. He was a graduate of Franklin High School. Mack was a retired logging contractor and grading contractor. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his family, especially his great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World and the First Baptist Church in Franklin.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Bernice Holder Cabe; daughters, Monica Cansler (John) of Franklin and Karen Tallent of Franklin; grandchildren, Sarah Norris (Matthew), Ethan Cansler (Sarah) and Dustin Tallent; great-grandchildren, Levi, Lucas, Lauryn and Lexi Norris; brother, Jackie C. Cabe of Merritt Island, Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of life was held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 13, at the First Baptist Church. Dr. Robert Brown, Rev. Robert Dyman and Rev. Rick Potts officiated.

The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Honorary pallbearers were Darrell Lee, Colbert Henson, Bill Sprinkle, Jeremy Sprinkle, Eddie Williams and James “Punk” Wiggins.
