FRANKLIN – Lila “Rendy” Johnston Howle went to be with her Lord and Savior on Dec. 11, 2020.
Rendy was born on March 6, 1943 to the late Rev. and Mrs. James W. Johnston Sr.
A graduate of Dreher High School in Columbia, South Carolina, she continued her education at Columbia College. She went on to teach high school, play the piano and organ for churches in South Carolina and Virginia, and was part owner in a creative childcare company in Orlando, Florida.
She is survived by her husband, William M. Howle Jr. of West Columbia, South Carolina; a brother, the Rev. James W. Johnston of Spartanburg, South Carolina; two sisters, Shirley Livingston and husband Don of Savannah, Georgia and Sara Melton of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; a son, James W. Howle and wife, Gabrielle of Crawford, Texas; a daughter, Melissa H. Monroe and husband Chris of West Columbia, South Carolina; and five grandchildren, Victoria, Anna, Benjamin, Joshua and Aaron.
