ASHEVILLE – Helen Jean Reed Henson, 89, passed away Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020 at the John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville.
Helen was born Dec. 11, 1931 in Highlands to the late William Lester Reed and Pearl Frady Reed. She is also preceded in death by her husband, David E. Henson; brothers, Eldon Reed, William L. Reed Jr., George Reed; sisters, Laverne Dills, and Norma Hooper. Helen was the owner of The Franklin Terrace. She was a devoted woman of God, dedicated to her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Surviving Helen is her daughter, Maria Henson Wells (Cliff) of Asheville; son, David E. Henson Jr. of Whittier, North Carolina; brother, Charles Reed (Janice) of Franklin; sister, Gloria Younce (Eddie) of Franklin; grandsons, Cody Wells (Katie) of Marshall, North Carolina, Jack Wells of Asheville; great-granddaughter, Hazel Jo Wells of Marshall, North Carolina and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be planned in the spring.
